Daahuk prepared this Expression of Interest (EOI) for the National Institute of Local Government (NILG) in August 2026. The proposed research aims to evaluate whether local institutions in Rajshahi City hold the capacity to introduce a youth-led Social Credit Redemption Programme (SCRP) for verified environmental action. Young people across Rajshahi routinely undertake environmental activities like tree planting and waste segregation, but these efforts remain uncompensated and disconnected from any structured municipal recognition system.
The study adopts a multiphase mixed-methods approach to determine the legal, financial, and administrative feasibility of rewarding verified youth environmental service with tangible public-service benefits, such as utility credits or fee waivers. By proposing a structured survey of approximately 423 young residents across all 30 wards and assessing institutions like the Rajshahi City Corporation and RWASA, the research provides an evidence-based roadmap for co-creating a sustainable, inclusive, and responsive local governance model.
