Tufaan - Integrated Disaster Preparatory Initiative
Building collective resilience and disaster preparedness in vulnerable regions.
About This Program
Building collective resilience and disaster preparedness in vulnerable regions.
The Haor and Char areas are among the most climate-vulnerable regions in Bangladesh. Daahuk launched the Tufaan Integrated Disaster Preparatory Initiative to move communities from a reactive state to one of proactive resilience. This program focuses on establishing early warning systems, adaptive agricultural planning, and secure resource management before disasters strike.Central to Tufaan is the formation of community-led response cooperatives. By building local capacity for disaster risk reduction, the initiative ensures that vulnerable populations can protect their lives, livelihoods, and hard-earned economic progress against the growing unpredictable threats of climate change.
